چکیده

Climate change is the most significant global challenge facing humanity. Despite unequivocal scientific evidence and overwhelming adverse impacts of climate change, there a growing divide in beliefs on anthropogenic causes change. To explore underlying cognitive mechanisms this divide, we review recent studies revealing number attentional perceptual biases that can give rise to divergent opinions With these insights mind, discuss several communication approaches (e.g. framing, visualization) have potential mitigate biases, with broader goal minimizing polarizing views promoting actions address

Attentional Biases during Steering Behavior

In the current study, we examine eye movements of human operators during a combined steering and discrimination task. In this task, observers had to alternate their gaze between a central steering task and a discrimination task in the periphery. Our results show that the observer’s gaze behavior is influenced by the motion direction of the steering task. Saccade reaction times (SRTs) of saccade...
